# Why/Vision/Principles #### WHY * Students in Taiwan rarely get a chance to experience the global tech scene and are unaware or disconnected from global resources. (e.g. [Very few Taiwanese teams are seen in YC](https://meet-global.bnext.com.tw/topic/view/32)). * We believe giving students exposure to the atmosphere and talent of a global hackathon can greatly expand their horizons at a young age, where dreaming big and exploring more possibilities can dramatically change a student's life trajectory. * Other than deepening technical understanding through mentorship, we also believe having the right value-aligned mentors with high integrity is critical to a student's character growth and decision-making maturity. #### VISION * We want to create a culture of giving back and design a structure/mechanism that creates a positive feedback loop that is open, fair, and long-term sustainable for future generations beyond the initiators and operators of this fund. #### PRINCIPLES * **Transparency** - Everything will be documented on-chain, fiat will be converted to on-chain assets transparently along with financials/votes/decision making process.
